CMCA is an architectural studio that has been shaping trends and delivering innovation for more than thirty years — not only in the Czech Republic, but also internationally.
We design and lead architectural projects that transform the built environment - from urban districts and airports to exhibition spaces, large-scale residential developments, and office buildings.
CMCA partners with both public and private investors wherever creativity, precision, high performance, and a deep understanding of context are essential.
The studio was founded more than thirty years ago by David Richard Chisholm and Vít Máslo. Today, together with Martina Chisholm and Evžen Dub, they lead a multi-generational team of more than thirty architects. CMCA’s leadership shapes visions and designs buildings that redefine cities, landscapes, and the environments we inhabit.
We strive to leave a lasting mark on this world — one that positively shapes the cities, places, and buildings we have worked on.“
Vít Máslo is a founding partner of CMC ARCHITECTS, and has been a leading force behind its professional success for the past 19 years. Vít was educated at both the Academy of Fine Arts, and the Technical University, here in Prague, and participates in both City Planning and the academic architectural education. Vít has vast experience with international collaboration, including some of the world’s top artists and architects, which has been key to the many publications and media interest of CMC ARCHITECTS projects and designs.
With over 25 years of practice, Vít Máslo is licensed in the Czech Republic, and is also a member of the Czech Academy of Architects. Vít has been committed to CMC’s philanthropic activities, for many years, including special funds for impoverished children, sponsoring of art galleries, and giving of time and financial support to local universities.
Architecture is a journey, a process of discovery, and a way of life. We seek understanding, essence, meaning, and identity within an increasingly complex global environment.“
David Richard Chisholm is one of the original founders of CMCARCHITECTS studio in Prague, Czech Republic. With thirty years of practice, David has led CMCA to winning prestigious awards and competitions, and to becoming one of the premier architectural firms in the Czech Republic. David’s constant search for originality, in a fractal approach to design, has created CMCA’s widely published, unique buildings over the past twenty years. With several world collaborations to his credit, including Henning Larsen from Copenhagen, Behnisch Architekten from Munich & Stuttgart, Ateliers Jean Nouvel from Paris, Gehry Partners from Los Angeles, MVRDV from Rotterdam, ARUP from the UK, and recently MIAS from Barcelona, David has elevated design and professionalism at CMCARCHITECTS to successfully work on an international level.
The experience David Richard Chisholm holds is from inventive and conceptual, to detail and construction of large office complexes, towers, train stations, airports, exhibition centers, residential communities, large public spaces, and landscapes of every scale. David Richard Chisholm was the lead designer and spear-headed the award-winning Prague International Airport Master Plan, the expansion of the Prague Congress Center, the Prague Market Urban Regeneration Master Plan, won both the prestigious Pasohlavky Spa Resort competition and the Nuselsky Brewery Urban Regeneration competition, invented the iconic vertical garden office complex BUTTERFLY KARLIN, and has won several awards for his Brownfield Adaptive Re-Use projects.
As only the seventh foreigner in the history of the Czech Republic, David Richard Chisholm, more than twenty years ago, was granted the highest-level licensure of architecture. David was also granted architectural and urban design licenses in Monte Negro and the United States (New York) and has been a member of both the Czech Academy of Architects and the Czech Green Building Council.
Educated in the United States, David studied Economics, Psychology, Art and Architecture, with a final diploma at the School of Environmental Design & Architecture, California Polytechnic, Pomona, in Los Angeles
