Hydropolis Prague is a unique water center bringing awareness of water management to the public. The currently enclosed complex will become a new public space with a wide range of game and water elements, accessible to the general public. A unique exposition of current modern water treatment and purification technologies will be created in one of the underground water reservoirs. As part of the project, the historical water tower and waterworks in Korunní Street will be reconstructed.
In the existing buildings of the operating building and the former water tower, new spaces for expositions, lecture halls, conference spaces with facilities and a viewpoint in the historical tower will be created.
The project also includes the conversion of one of two existing water reservoirs into exposure and educational purposes related to water treatment technologies. The design includes an architectural, urban and landscape design inspired by the water cycle, using various types of water features distributed over the exhibition space, such as a biotope lake with a waterfall, an example of water treatment in the root zone and a functional model of water filters.
